Influence of media on young women
Today, the media plays a huge role in the way that young women portray themselves and their bodies. While celebrities and other famous faces in the media do make way for more open-minded looks and styles, they can also skew the image of what a woman should actually look like. Stick-thin models and actresses may impact the lives of young women in a way that is not always healthy. Through influential media icons, many woman feel as though they need to look the same way in order to be attractive and sexy. In the media today, we may see more provocative outfits that were not socially accepted just years ago. In this sense, it allows woman to feel more like themselves with the ability to dress however they would like to.
When men see photographs and videos of celebrities in the media, they often have a perverted picture of sexuality and what all women should look like and act like. This could be from the way that they dress to the way that they act in the bedroom. Not only are these acts portrayed in the movies, but they can be seen from day to day in the everyday lives of media icons. After looking at these overly-sexual photographs or videos, some men end up having the problem of premature ejaculation. This can occur simply by looking at sexually stimulating photographs of everyday people who are present in the media.
Because the media is everywhere that you turn, it plays a huge part in influencing the lives of young women. For some women, the influence may be a good thing while in other women, it may be a bad thing. In one sense, it gives young woman the confidence that they can be whoever they want and do not have to live up to anyone else’s standards. In another sense, women may try to be what they think men want through dressing provocatively and even developing an eating disorder in order to become thin. It is important to understand that everything in the media may not always be as it seems.
