The Girls, Women & Media Project website and network is managed by Tamara Sobel, J.D. Ms. Sobel is the Founder of the Project, and an advocate and lawyer by training. She is also a founding member of the Alliance for A Media Literate America (AMLA), where she coordinates the AMLA Caucus on Media, Gender and Sexuality.
Ms. Sobel has interests and background in the arts, and in public health and social equality issues.
The Project receives administrative assistance from Karen Morgan, Project Assistant.
Our network includes many individuals and organizations interested in media, arts, education, health, and social equality, some of whom are directly involved in research and advocacy. The Project will refer to information from our networkers when it is relevant and reliable. Sometimes we direct inquiries in specialty areas directly to them. We are grateful for the interesting and impressive work many of our networkers are doing, and for their sharing it with us!
In addition, we gratefully acknowledge Nina Gelfand, M.S.W.; Martha Lauzen, Ph.D. (Professor of Communications, San Diego State University); and Kim McCarten (KMC Design) for website design.
